GRANTS
Jaime Planas Foundation covers the training and technical and professional updating of 4 residents, during a period lasting from Three months to one year. These grants include training and dwelling costs. These five physicians have the opportunity to learn the surgeon art of the specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery during their stay. All doctors from all nationalities can apply for this program and they can present their request all year around.Grant bases are the following:
1- Candidates must be residents undergoing their last year on the specialty of plastic and reconstructive surgery and doctors that have their degree on plastic and reconstructive surgery less than three years ago.
2- Scholarship includes:
a) Total cost of their training during their stay.
b) Dwelling in a private area for those residents interested. This area has TV, telephone, air conditioning, heat, internet 24h, laundry service.
c) All meals.
d) Participation in all courses and congress organized by Clinica Planas during their stay.
e) Attendance certificate and diploma once their stay is over.
3- Candidates must talk and write in Spanish fluently.

a) Copy of title on Bachelor of medicine degree.
b) Presentation letter
c) Letter explaining his/her motivations for training on Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (maximum 1,500 words).
d) CV
e) Certificate of currently studying last year on specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, issued by the training department of his/her hospital o copy of the title of Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon.
5- The awarded candidates will be trained in Clínica Planas, actively participating in all activities of the clinic, i.e. welfare, teaching and research. Following, detailed description of all residents activities:
a) Assistance in operating room, 90% of operations will be of plastic surgery.
b) Inclusion on an on ?call shift schedule.
c) Unlimited access to library, (one of most complete on Plastic Surgery on the world)
d) Possibility to elaborate research work with option to be published.
e) Participation on the academic activities of the Clinic (courses, surgery subjects discussion and congresses).
6- The length of the stay is from 3 months to 1 year as intern resident. These grants can be extended should the board considers that the intern residents have achieved the planned targets and considers it necessary.
Not only does Clinica Planas organize the training scholarship, but it also offers many courses, seminars and conferences. Clinica Planas has published more than 350 articles and works in several national and international specialized magazines.
Clinica Planas has hosted more than 350 physicians as intern residents from the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Salvador, Spain, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Also, the American Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation from USA recommends this center for training specialists.
